What should we do in the first hours after a loved one dies?

 If your loved one has died at home, call 112 first: an ambulance and the police will attend. The doctor formally confirms the death and the police make a report. Once these formalities are complete, contact Ritual Prim. We will explain what happens next, send a funeral director to you, bring the deceased into our care and help with the paperwork, the preparation of the deceased and the rest of the funeral arrangements.If the death occurred in a hospital or another medical facility, some of the initial procedures are handled there. What documents do we need to arrange a funeral in Moldova?

 The documents depend on the circumstances of the death, but usually include the death notice (avizier), the identity documents of the deceased and those of the relative or representative making the arrangements. If Ritual Prim is arranging the funeral, we will first check the documents you already have, explain what is missing and tell you what needs to be done next.The family does not have to work out which office to visit at each stage: we guide you through the process and take care of the formalities. The funeral takes place on the basis of the death notice, and the death certificate is issued by the Public Services Agency (ASP) after the funeral. Still have questions about this? Write to us

How much does a funeral cost in Chișinău and across Moldova?

 The cost of a funeral depends on the choices you make: the coffin, the preparation of the deceased, transport, the place of the farewell, flowers, work at the cemetery and any additional services. At Ritual Prim we begin by listening to what the family would like, then prepare a clear estimate and explain how the total is made up.You can choose individual services or entrust the entire funeral to us. How does repatriation from another country to Moldova work?

 First, we establish where the deceased is, which hospital or mortuary is responsible for releasing them, and which documents that particular country requires. Ritual Prim then coordinates the paperwork, the preparation of the deceased for international transport and all contact with the mortuary and local authorities, before arranging the journey to Moldova.Requirements vary from country to country, so the family does not need to find mortuaries, carriers or offices themselves. We manage the process and let you know what is needed at each stage.How long repatriation takes depends on the country, the paperwork and any additional procedures, such as a forensic examination or an investigation. Can a cremation be arranged if there is no crematorium in Moldova?

 Yes. If the family chooses cremation, Ritual Prim arranges it outside Moldova, taking care of the documents, the transport of the deceased, all contact with the crematorium and the return of the urn with the ashes. If the death occurred abroad, there is another option: the cremation can take place in that country and the urn can then be brought to Moldova.Once you contact us, we will explain the options available and suggest the most suitable route for the country and your circumstances. Can a funeral or repatriation be arranged remotely?

 Yes. If relatives are abroad or unable to come in person, much of the arranging can be done remotely. Transport, the preparation of the deceased, the funeral, repatriation, funeral goods, flowers and other details can all be agreed with Ritual Prim by phone or online.We will tell you in advance which documents are needed in your situation.
