Ask us a question
How much does repatriation from Austria cost?
Prices start at €1800 and depend on the city, the means of transport and the procedures required by local law.
We send you an itemised estimate before any work begins. Once it is agreed, the price does not change.
How long does the journey from Austria take?
Usually 3-5 days from the point at which the documents are issued and the body can be released.
It can take longer if a forensic examination is ordered, an investigation is under way or the documents are awaiting consular legalisation. If anything changes, we let you know straight away.
What documents are needed?
The death certificate, a medical certificate of the cause of death, the export permit, the embalming certificate and the personal documents of the deceased.
When you first get in touch, we check what is already in place and what still needs to be done. Anything missing we obtain ourselves, through the mortuary, the local authorities and the consulate.
What do we need from the family?
The details of the deceased, the contact details of the mortuary or hospital if you have them, and a power of attorney signed electronically.
There is no need for you to travel to Austria: we handle the correspondence with the authorities, payments to local services and all the logistics.
Can the ashes be brought home instead of the body?
Yes. The cremation can take place locally and we bring the urn to Moldova. This is quicker and less costly than transporting the body.
We prepare all the paperwork for the cremation and for taking the urn out of the country.

Repatriation of the deceased means bringing a body, or an urn with the ashes, from the country where the person died back to their home country. Ritual Prim takes care of the entire process: we complete the paperwork in the country where the death occurred, prepare the deceased for the journey, plan the route by specialist vehicle across Europe or by cargo flight, meet the deceased in Chișinău and hand them over to the family.
Repatriation from Austria to Moldova includes the release of the deceased, embalming, a zinc-lined coffin, transport and handover to the family. We are available 24 hours a day. Price: from €1800. Timeframe: 3-5 days.
Repatriation from Austria involves formalities in two countries, and dealing with them from Moldova, at a distance, is almost impossible. We do it on the family’s behalf: we have established contacts with the local services, and we collect the deceased from Vienna, Graz or any other city and bring them home.
