Is there a crematorium in Moldova?
There is no working crematorium in the Republic of Moldova, so cremation takes place abroad.
Ritual Prim works with crematoria in Ukraine and Romania. We arrange the transport of the deceased, the paperwork and the return of the urn ourselves.
How does cremation work, from the first call to receiving the urn?
We collect the deceased, obtain the death certificate and the permit to take the deceased out of the country, and prepare them for the journey.
We take your loved one to the crematorium in a specialist vehicle and are present at the handover, then collect the urn with the ashes and bring it to the family in Chișinău.
The farewell and funeral service can take place before departure, in our chapel of rest or in church.
How long does cremation take?
From two days. It depends on whether all the documents are ready and how busy the mortuary and the crematorium are.
If a forensic examination is ordered or the police have been involved, the body is released only once the procedures are complete, which adds to the time.
How much does cremation cost?
The cost is agreed individually. It depends on where the cremation takes place, the distance, the procedures involved and the urn you choose.

What documents are needed for cremation?
The death notice (avizier), registration of the death with the Public Services Agency (ASP), the permit to take the deceased out of the country and the deceased's own documents.
If the cremation takes place in the country where the person died, local rules determine which documents are needed. We check what you already have and arrange whatever is missing.
Can we hold a farewell and funeral service before the cremation?
Yes. We hold the farewell in Chișinău before the journey to the crematorium and take care of the chapel of rest, transport, flowers and church service.
If the family would prefer to say goodbye after the cremation, a ceremony can be held with the urn.
What can be done with the ashes afterwards?
The urn can be buried in a cemetery, in a family grave or a new plot, kept by the family or sent to relatives in another country.
We arrange the permit to bury the urn, the work at the cemetery and the documents for taking it abroad.

How much does cremation cost?
The cost covers the cremation itself, the transport and the paperwork, and depends on the crematorium you choose. Call 14000 and we will give you the full amount for your situation straight away, with no hidden extras.
How long does it take?
That depends on the paperwork and the journey, but it is usually a few days. The ashes themselves are normally ready within a day of the cremation.
Can we accompany the deceased and be present?
Yes. You can accompany the vehicle carrying the deceased and be present at the crematorium. If you would prefer to leave everything to us, we will prepare a power of attorney and let you know which additional documents are needed.
What can be done with the ashes?
The urn can be buried in a grave or placed in a columbarium, kept at home, or the ashes can be scattered. There are also memorial options, such as a diamond made from the ashes or a memorial tree.
What documents will you need from the family?
The main ones are the passport of the deceased and your own passport; we obtain the death notice (avizier) and the death certificate. We also prepare everything else, including the international transport permits, and will give you the full list when you call.
