We send an itemised estimate before any work begins. Once it is agreed, the amount does not change. The price depends on the country and on how the journey is made

All we need from the family are the details of the deceased and a power of attorney. Every other document is ours to prepare

About repatriation of the deceased

Repatriation of the deceased is the international transport of a body, or of an urn with the ashes, from the country where the death occurred back home. Ritual Prim has done this work since 2012: we prepare the documents in the country of death, prepare the deceased for the journey, plan the route by specialist vehicle across Europe or by cargo flight, meet the deceased in Chișinău and hand them to the family.

We work with repatriation from Europe, including England, Germany, Italy, France, Spain and Portugal, and from the CIS countries, as well as with journeys out of Moldova. The price depends on the country and on how the journey is made, and we send the estimate before any work begins.

Repatriation has been our main line of work for more than 14 years. When someone dies far from home, we arrange their return in full: the documents of both countries, the preparation, the journey and meeting them in Moldova, wherever the family lives.

How repatriation works

  1. The call and the first steps. We tell you what the family should do here and what relatives abroad should do, at any hour.
  2. The documents of both countries. The death certificate, the consular papers and the permit for international transport are ours to prepare.
  3. Preparing the deceased. Local partners carry out the embalming and prepare the sealed coffin that the transport rules require.
  4. The journey to Moldova. By road hearse or by air, depending on the country and on what the family wants.
  5. Home. We meet the deceased, take them to the house or the farewell hall and, if you wish, arrange the funeral.
